Sweet Greek Kataifi

Most people associate Baklava as the only Greek dessert however Greeks have a big repertoire of desserts to select from. This includes Kataifi. Kataifi is originally from the Middle East although Greeks have adapted this dessert to suit their own tastes. I have to say that each version of this dessert is tasty. I will show you how to make the Greek type ~ its tasty, sweet and will leave you asking for more. What else would you want from a dessert (other than fewer calories.. lol)

So what is Kataifi ~ its actually threaded filo sheets with nuts and syrup. Very sweet, crunchy and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pack Kataifi
  • 400 gr Nuts of choice (Pistachio, Walnuts or Almonds) mixed with 2 Tbsp Cinnamon, 4 Tbsp Granulated sugar.
  • 250 gr Melted Butter

Method

Packet Of Kataifi

Release All The Pasta Strands

Brush With Melted Butter

Crushed Nuts With Cinnamon/Sugar

Add Nut Mixture

Add Nut Mixture To One End And Roll Into Log

Keep Rolling

Place Kataifi Logs Onto Tray

Bake @ 350 F for 1 Hour or Until Golden

After 1 hour In Oven

Pour Greek Dessert Syrup onto Kataifi

Allow Kataifi To Absorb Syrup
