When was the last time you ate some Baklava? If not yesterday, then you really need to get your Baklava fix. Greek sweets are known to be “sickly sweet” however you don’t have to eat the whole tray. A small piece of dessert is all that is required to satisfy your sweet tooth, otherwise you may have to book an appointment to see your dentist. I absolutely love this Greek dessert and try not to make it too often as I end up eating the whole thing ~ very easy to do when its staring at you in the kitchen every time you walk in. Best thing to do is make it, keep a few pieces and give the rest to your friends and neighbors.
There are many different styles of Baklava found from all over the world including Greece, Turkey and the Middle East. Each culture has their own take on this wonderful dessert. The major difference is the spices and nuts used in its preparation otherwise they are almost identical.
Baklava is easy to make however like most desserts, you need to plan a few things in advance such as the dessert Syrup.

- 500 g Walnuts
- 300 g Almonds
- 3 Tbsp Cinnamon
- 5 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
